Assistant Manager - Tap Room
Principle Responsibilities / Position Purpose
The Assistant Manager works in all areas of our tap room, including front of house and back of house areas. This position works with the Tap Room General Manager and other assistant managers to properly organize, manage, and execute tap room operations.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Shift oversight of all tap room staff including bar staff, servers, barbacks, and merchandisers.
- Utilizing in-house POS to properly register sales, open and close the tap room, and determine tip outs.
- Working with tap room management to increase efficiency and reduce loss.
- Continually improving customer service and the customer experience within the tap room.
- Working with tap room management to assist in hiring, training, and scheduling tap room staff.
- Continuous maintenance of the tap room and its fixtures.
- Execution of special events, reservations, functions, and parties.
- Train workers in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Compiles and balance cash receipts at the end of the day or shift.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding service.
- Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service, and complete coaching where appropriate.
- Assign duties, responsibilities, and workstations to employees in accordance with work requirements.
- Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.

- Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Must complete Cicerone Certified Beer Server and Serv Safe Alcohol Course within 1 month of hire
- Strong knowledge of restaurant/tap room operations and service procedures.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours or more).
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift weight ranging from 30-50lbs.

- Experience with using a POS system.
- Must be at least 21 years old.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
OSHA laws require the use of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety:
- Safety goggles when walking through the Production area
Employees will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE. Funky Buddha Brewery provides the required PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly to your Manager.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
This position has oversight to tap room staff including lead servers, servers, bartenders, barbacks, bussers, retail associates and tour guides.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION
Four-year college degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years hospitality supervisory experience is required. Craft beer experience is preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Cicerone Certified Beer Server and Serv Safe Alcohol Certificates are required.
GROOMING
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
OTHER
Additional language ability preferred.
