Part-Time Banquet Server

The Banquet Server performs food and drink serving duties at dinners and special events while interacting with guests in a positive, friendly and efficient manner.  Banquet Servers also assist with set-up and break down of event requirements.

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Set up banquet room as requested by the BEO to include glassware, service ware, linen, buffets
  • Attend pre-shift meetings in order to learn function particulars, including guest expectations
  • Greet and welcome guests and respond to their requests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Serve the beverage and food in the appropriate order and in tune with the expectation of the BEO so as to ensure consistency throughout the banquet
  • Quickly remove dishes as guests finish each meal at the end of each meal or function
  • Abide by all corporate act, laws and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Replenish beverages when necessary, and check with guests to make sure they are satisfied
  • After the banquet, reset banquet room in accordance with the specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for other functions
  • Knows and adheres to health and sanitation guidelines and follows all safety policies
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

OSHA laws require the use of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety:

  • Safety goggles when walking through the Production area

 

Employees will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE.  Funky Buddha Brewery provides the required PPE.  It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly to your Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Possess a valid State of Florida approved server training certification and/or be willing to successfully complete training provided by Funky Buddha Brewery.
  • Strong knowledge of banquet operations and service procedures.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Punctual and regular, reliable attendance.
  • Honesty and Integrity.
  • Knows and adheres to health and sanitation guidelines and follows all safety policies
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

  • Well-versed in: beer history; brewing techniques; preparation techniques, styles, flavor profiles or possess a willingness to learn.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION

High School diploma preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

Prior banquet serving experience required.  Craft beer experience preferred.

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

ServSafe certificate required.  Must be able to earn Cicerone Level 1 certification within first year of employment.

 

GROOMING

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.

 

OTHER

Additional language ability preferred.
