Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Hospitality General Manager to oversee the overall operations and management of our hospitality establishment. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient operations, and the overall profitability of our on-site retail hospitality business. You will lead a team of staff members, including department managers, while working closely with the executive team to achieve business objectives.


Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee all aspects of the establishment's operations, including guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and event management.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions to maximize guest satisfaction and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the production team to coordinate the release and promotion of new beers and seasonal offerings.

Guest Experience Excellence:

  • Foster a culture of exceptional guest service, ensuring that guest needs and expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Monitor guest feedback, reviews, and ratings, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with department managers to develop and implement guest service strategies, programs, and training initiatives to enhance the overall guest experience.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement cost-control measures, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing expenses without compromising service quality or guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute revenue-generation strategies, including sales and marketing initiatives, to drive business growth.

Staff Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, including department managers and supervisors, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and opportunities for development to maximize employee engagement and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with staff, promoting transparency, collaboration, and a positive work environment.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements related to the hospitality industry.
  • Implement and enforce safety and security protocols, promoting a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records, including financial transactions, employee schedules, and operational documentation, in adherence to company policies.

 

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in a leadership role within the hospitality industry, such as restaurant general manager or hospitality manager.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality operations, including guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, and event management.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Exceptional guest service mindset and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue management.
  • Proficient in managing operational processes, including systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with guests, staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in the hospitality industry.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Must be able to move up to 55 lbs.
  • Use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Climb or balance stairs/ladders.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Must have close vision, distant vision, and ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision.
  • Must be able sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, be able to drive a car and travel via plane/train as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
